ABC Amber Outlook Express Converter - convert email messages

Outlook Express Converter converts your emails from Outlook Express to many document formats (PDF, MS Word, HTML, RTF, TXT and others). All you have to do is select the messages to convert, choose the desired document format and click a button to save the message(s) in the new format. You can choose to convert and export single messages, or multiple, combining them all into a single file. Some additional format conversions require the proper converters installed in order to work.

Pando

Free software Pando is a small application that allows you to email any size file for free.

Pando is similar to previously-mentioned services like YouSendIt or Dropload, but Pando is actually a standalone app that runs outsite of your browser with a slick, user-friendly interface.

Pando might be a good substitute for a web-based service like YouSendIt, which requires you to use a browser that might more easily be stopped or closed if you forget that you're uploading a large file.

Remove Unused Icons from your System Tray

The system tray (Windows) is that area to the bottom right of your taskbar, right next to the clock. Unfortunately, this area of computing real estate can get clogged up pretty fast with unused icons if you’re not careful - thankfully Help2Go has written a very easy to follow quick tip that will help you hide the ones you don’t use very often. — Wendy Boswell

Fomine WinPopup - WinPopup replacement

Fomine WinPopup is a replacement for the standard Microsoft WinPopup. It offers a more user-friendly interface with additional features like contact list with status indicator, contact list sharing, sound notifications,, high-color toolbars, auto-answer, message history and more. An optional (free) add-on offers text-to-speech functionality, which lets you read incoming messages aloud.

StartEx - application launcher

StartEx is an application launcher that hides in the upper left corner of your desktop, and reveals a small yellow button when your mouse touches the edge of the scree. Clicking the button reveals a customizable drop menu that lets you launch your favorite programs, organized in categories. Adding a new icon is as simple as dragging it onto the menu, and you can also move items between categories in the same way. The default color scheme is not overly eye pleasing (to us), but you can customize it to your preference using the full Windows color palette, and also add or remove categories as needed.

Spy Sweeper

Spy Sweeper safely detects and removes more traces of spyware including Trojans, adware, keyloggers and system monitoring tools. If items are found during a scan, the program offers a short description, as well as recommendations on how to protect yourself and your PC. You can choose to remove or quarantine the infected items. In addition to malware scanning, SpySweeper also offers a variety of real-time protection shields that prevent new malware from being installed, as well as unauthorized system changes to your browser settings, startup programs, Hosts file and more. You can run spyware scans automatically, on a regular schedule, and the program can automatically update itself with the latest definition files.
